If the first half of this chapter wasn't a blatant hint at KeitoxKouichi I don't know what would be. It was really cute.

But I don't know, did the director really pick her for being the worst? She was bad because she couldn't read. He might have recognized her acting skills for what they were though.

But definitely, her facial expressions in her attempt at the audition got me to smile definitely. xD She was so into it.

@_@ Although the director confuses me so much, i'm guessing he doesn't want anyone to act too good to make the main actress look bad. So.. perhaps you're right and he recognized her skill and is hoping she'll downplay it?

Perhaps? Or maybe he's using Keito as a model to make the main actress act better? According to the drama (which is very different) the director chose her to increase publicity for the film but I don't think that's the direction this is going.

Oh yeah! The drama's started. I need to watch that sometime. xD (How is it so far compared to the manga?)

Makes me wonder how Yen herself got the role. >_> They all insult the girl so freely.

The drama's pretty different. I'm sure you've heard that Rei's not there? His character is replaced with a new one called Suzuki Gouta. I think they did that to remove the love triangle factor - no way you could fit that into just 6 episodes! Kouichi's character is different too since he's like a combination of both himself and Rei.

Who's Yen? The girl who got the main lead for the drama? She probably got it just because she's a popular idol - they don't have to know how to act, they're just there for eye candy.

Wait...they removed Rei and then mixed his personality with Kouichi?!?

And yes Yen is the main character in the manga's name I think the actress is Rie...which constantly confuses me when I'm typesetting. I keep wanting to change it to Rei or think, "oh is Rei back?"

And that girl had to know somebody because I thought it was implied that she's an up and coming entirely and her big debut is in the movie as the lead.

I don't get why they went with just 6 episodes instead of the normal 10 or 11. Surely considering how bad some of the dramas that come out are, they could have given this a bit more time.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they made the drama in the first place if they had to remove a major character and shorten the series. I believe it was produced by NHK, who is known for taiga dramas so usually their "normal" series are lower budget.
