As of July 31, 2008: We're now actively seeking more cleaners for some of our new projects, including Kapon, Chikyuu Kanrinin and Saiunkoku Monogatari.

Our current cleaners are made of the awesome, but for the sake of all of our sanity I'm looking for a few more to help with the work load with all the new projects.

Come on people, doesn't anyone enjoy the satisfaction of erasing black lines, black words, and dark blemishes to leave beautiful and crisp black and white scans? It's fun! On top of that, if you help out, we can get your favorite releases out faster.

And, of course, there's nothing better than getting to level a page and see it suddenly get much cleaner, like magic! Unbalanced, icky pages suddenly becoming beautifully levelled? Now that's what I call fun!

On the topic of which, do you have tests for the positions, or is it just a case of "apply and we'll train you" - I'm curious. And while it may have killed the cat, I'm hoping I'll be spared.

No, no tests. I don't even train people though I do look at their work and tell them if they can clean better than me (the worst cleaner in the bunch) they're hired. In all honesty when I started the group two months ago I had no idea what I was doing and just cleaned the bubbles. I did, a little while ago, look at some cleaning tutorials made by other groups to see how I could improve what I was doing since I'm cleaning challenged.

I got to step six of thirty-seven on the "easy" version and was like..."clean bubbles look okay to me!"

I'm a lazy person.

Edit: We do have a new cleaner! Kitteh, who made our banner, is also generously offering her time to helping us clean!

Hello all, I'd like to apply for a cleaning job here. Please get back to me on any thing I need to do. I'm free 90% of most days of the week. I can go two days with out sleep too, just a fun fact that might be helpful in knowing. Any way I hope to talk to some one soon.

I edited Perch's original post as we are again seeking more cleaners. Please apply asap since I've got hot off the press translations of Kapon and Chikyuu just waiting for you! No more wait time, apply and Perch'll shoot you the raws to start cleaning right away.

I moved the conversation after your post to the welcome section since I wanted to reopen this post to look for more cleaners. Now I'm starting to understand lynz's pain...

I'm also hoping to become a cleaner...
like perch i also used the tutorials to guide my way through the process
I've been practicing like theres no tomorrow...trust me...u can ask all my buddies(cuz i've been complaining to them every time i mess up)

I was hoping this will be the first group that i will join...
cuz i love your concept on how you choose mangas that were left unfinished,
and a lot of them are ones that I really love reading

I'll be very dedicated with this job, cuz for sum reason I love messing with photoshop, for those who haven't guessed yet, im quite strange

I don't want to put a damper on anyone who is interested in becoming a cleaner. However be aware, that there are good and bad raws out there. And you'll be needing to be able to handle both. Please don't let it stop you from applying because we can certainly use more cleaners. Just be aware, it might take you longer then you think to make a page usable.

Is there any particular series or genre that you would like to work on? I think Perch has posted somewhere all our new series. Also, tell her if you prefer no smut.
