2 guys, 1 girl, goes to university together in a sci-fi environment.
both guys are in love with the girl. (of course)
she marries one of them.
Then the couple contract this space virus, the man in the couple dies. The woman is cryogenically frozen. The other guy goes off into space, have lots of adventures, brings back something that eventually becomes the cure.
The woman is revived in the end by the GRANDSON of the man who went into space to look for this cure.
What am I talking about? I don't know. It could've been an anime movie, anime series, anime something. It's something that probably aired in HK in the 80's. And now I'm dying to find out what it is. Does anyone know? The art is really old-school.

| God I spent probably like 20 minutes googling to no end trying to find out what this anime is... but in the end I failed miserably. --; Well whatever it is, I am now really curious about it so let me know if you ever remember. ^^; |

seems like an old sci-fi plot doesn't it? I just can't remember. And I googled desperately too. I checked summaries everywhere. No luck. Maybe I'll go ask on metafilter.
