Hello Firephenix and welcome to the board. I've gone ahead and added you to staff. I'm looking over all our new projects and will be assigning manga later today so expect an email/pm from me.
I hope you enjoy your time here and thank you for offering to help us with the cleaning!
I won't tell you how many gigs of manga I have in the computer, but I will say I love enthusiastic manga lovers!

Ehehe.... last time I checked, I had 60 GB...
So, yeah.
Anyway, now for a not-so-subtle change of topic!
Ouias, bonjour, bienvenue, etc. J'espère que vous parlez français, parce que je dois le pratiquer et j'ai presque personne qui veut m'aider... wah...
Moi, je viens de Toronto, alors je sais où vous vivez.... ACK I SOUND LIKE A STALKER.
Into English then! I'm one of the mods around here, so don't spam and we'll all get along fine.
How old is your son??

LOLCOOL I FELLOW CANADIAN
Ah my son, 5 years old( just a brat) half peruvian / half haitian
this kid the only time he needed me is to give him birth and breastfeeding lol
no seriously, he's really independent so gives me lots of time for myself
and since we watch i lot of Japanese anime, he can say few words and japs -- he's better than me in the pronounciation
enough of the proud mother quotes..
ok so what you beat me
60gb OMG I thought i was bad lol
whats your fav genre?
or manhaka?
series?
ah oui je comprend/ecrit/parle le francais c'est ma langue maternelle
j'ai pas de probleme a t'aider
your willing to learn is a sign of intelligence...
wow how corny i can be....
huumm i'm sure i got that quote from somewhere...

Fav genre? Totally shoujo. It's mainly shoujo, really, I'd say... *runs off and checks* Yes, it's totally mainly shoujo.
I looooove 100% Perfect Girl... I'd say it's one of my favourites right now... and Hana-Kimi, Kaze Hikaru, Skip Beat, and Beauty Pop are some of my other favourites... non-smut, that is~
And WATA Nobu, as you said, is awesome.
L'intelligence? Moi?
Anyway, back to English again. It's not all that corny... but yeah, I feel like I've heard that before, too... hmm...

Wow, 60 GB. Decent amount I guess, though as much as it pains me to admit this, I probably have about double that. (I recently ran out of room on my 750gb hard drive, and had to move about 20 GB to one of my secondary hard drives. That and burn a couple more DVDs.
I swear when I bought it, 750 GBs seemed like a lot for a drive. Now I'm wishing I went for the 1 TB drive instead, and thinking I need to go and buy another.
Skip Beat, my all time favorite right now. Crimson Hero. Isn't it interesting that it seems like they're all being released by the evil Enchantment scans. (Evil because they're working on licensed stuff.) But I'm so glad they do.

YAY Skip Beat and Crimson Hero!
*loves them both to death, even buys them from Viz*
Speaking of which, I haven't bought SB volume 13 yet, have I... hrmmm...
Yeah, my 500 GB external drive is almost full, which is really bad since I bought it in... lemme see... November... yeah. I've been shifting stuff between it and my main hard drive, since they're both so close to full... I really need another external one again...
I don't even want to know how much anime I have. The 60 GB is just manga that I've downloaded since I bought the hard drive. And yes, I'm totally wishing I'd gone for the 1 TB drive instead, too!
*whistles* Evil? Psssht. I don't mind at a~ll when they work on licensed stuff, not at all! But yeah, Enchantment scans are doing a ton of series I love. Aerandria, too.

Ah~ How I wish I'm more fluent in my french *staring at stack of french textbooks on shelf* Used to email my colleague to gossip in french so that hopefully no one understands if our emails are being screened. Those were the days.
Back to topic, Welcome Fire! Don't worry, I'm older than you. Hope I'll get to work with you soon

Yeah. I'm pretty much enjoying everything that Enchantment is working on, and Midnight Secretary is just one of the many Aerandria series I've been following.
Whats funny is that like yourself, I'm pretty much buying everything too. Skip Beat, Beauty Pop, Crimson Hero. I'm downloading them even still.

I try to buy a lot of what I read, but I still have no qualms about reading it online even if it's licensed. I still read Fairy Tail every week and pick up the books. I'm also a big fan of Aerenandria's I love a lot of their projects.
Hopefully you'll enjoy you're time with us FIREPHENIX. We have quite an age range here. I'm 28 and I know we have some youngish teens up to 30 somethings in the staff.

Yay, I'm not the youngest! Yeah, I really hope you enjoy working with us. We're not crazy... hehe... not at all!
My take on the issue is that, 90% of the time, I won't buy a series unless I know that it's really good, because I don't have much money to waste and can't really change that at the moment - I'm too sick to be able to balance a job and school, so I'm stuck with what my parents give me. And I won't know if it's good or not from one preview chapter in Shojo Beat magazine, not usually. I need a good volume or so before I'll commit, and if I can find that online, it'll actually make me buy the series. So I have no problem with it, morally.
@Molenir: I have the feeling your manga collection looks a lot like mine, since I buy all three of the series that you mentioned... and a bunch of other ones, mainly Viz. I like the way they publish books, whereas Tokyopop and a couple of the other publishers = not so much.

We're getting a bit off the welcome topic here, but what the heck.

Maybe, though I have around 300 volumes or so of manga that I've purchased. Being a bit older and having no kids of my own yet, I have a bit more disposable income, which I end up spending on my hobbies. IE manga and anime. Normally I follow the same rule, read a volume or 2 then decide whether or not I'm willing to commit my hard earned money to it. However awhile back I discovered that this is no guarantee against a bad series. I bought the first 6 or so volumes of Gentlemans Alliance before reading the end of the scanalated manga, and deciding I'm not going to spend any more on it. I ended up buying the entire President Dad series because I liked the first 2 volumes which were available online... I just hated the next 5.
Then theres the really good ones like W-Juliet, and Kimi wa Pet (aka the unfortunately named Tramps like Us)

i know the title is kinda... wrong lol just YOU`RE MY PET would be better actually
but yes i do have some mangas at home that i purchased online...
the librairy nearby are so slow getting things...in French...UGH...
just because in english ...the storyline seems better lol
i recently bought the whole serie on FRUITS BASKET and SEX PISTOLS(LOVE PISTOLS i you prefer)
2 different genre humm lol
anyways those are away of my son reach lol
the last time he found my manga, he thought there were some `color me`books
aaahh i was so pissed at myself at that time
but what i hate is a group starts a scanlation series, you get hooked up and bam!
the group doesn't exist or they dropped the project( not du to license)
btw i've added few request series
under staff/ request

Yeah, but French manga's awesome because it's so far ahead of the English ones sometimes!
I'm obviously still elated over getting Honey and Clover up to volume 8 (take that, Shojo Beat with your only having three volumes out so far!!). And Shinobi Life is licenced and out to volume 4... and Parfait Tic is licenced... and so is lots of smut... and After-school Nightmare is two volumes ahead of English too!
*Lynz wishes to return to Québec and buy more (expensive) manga - it's like 13 dollars a volume!*
