Hallo~Hola, bonjour, konbanwa, and hello. I'm lynzajw - though, please, just call me Lynz and skip all the formalities. Overall, I guess I'm not all that exciting - I play piano, read books and manga (duh) and watch anime... and that's about it for me in terms of hobbies. I'm an editor on my school newspaper and a huge nerd, in all honesty... apart from that there's not much to tell. I don't have a boyfriend, nor do I have any interest in getting one.
I like romantic shoujo series - they're what got me started on manga in the first place - but have also moved on to shonen, seinen, and josei stuff. I also tend to indulge in smut sometimes... hehe, yes, only sometimes. And if you believe that the above honestly admits to how much smut I read, I'll see you at the flying pig exhibition next week. It's gonna be a good show!
And, by the bye, I'm a moderator around here as of yesterday, yay! *stern teacher voice* Just follow the rules and I'm sure we'll all get along fine, okay? My main creed in life is that of laziness, so if you help me with that by making good posts I don't have to edit or delete, I'll be very happy
I'm also a staff member at The Evil Empire, so if you're ever interested in reading one of A Willful Muse's projects and want to get the story from the beginning, I suggest you go there. Yay for shameless self-promotion!
Anyway, that's about it for me, especially considering that I should be asleep now. Not that I plan to go to bed after this, mind you, oh no... I have far more sinister things to do... *evil laughter ensues*

Hello and welcome moderator!
I actually started reading manga through my fiance so it was all Shounen and Seinen for a while and then I stumbled into Shoujo and was like...oh this looks shiny too. I also read Yaoi and Yuri.
The only thing I won't read is really hardcore horror and most shota/loli. Not hardcore violence though, I love manga like Priest and Claymore, just the really creepy horror, murder stuff. That can get to me. I don't like horror movies either so yeah.
Are you watching any of the anime currently airing? I'm catching Soul Eater and Slayers Revolution each week.

Hola Lynz! Nice to meet you!
You play piano????? That's sooooooooooooooooooo cool! I always wanted to learn.
Yey for you being the new moderator! I'll be a good girl!

Wow Lynz! You really wrote a nice and informative introduction! And I like your style, flying pig exhibition, lol. I love the Evil Empire too! Kudos on being staff there! See ya around!

@ Perch: Yeah, I read yaoi and yuri too. Though more yaoi than yuri, just because there seems to be more of it out there. It's kind of my substitute when I can't find any new smut... I especially like Okane ga Nai and Sono Kuchibiru ni Yoru no Tsuyu right now... I obviously don't like totally happy little stories. Those are the only two I'm actually keeping up with.
I'm not a huge fan of shota/loli either. Toriko ~Aigan Shoujo~ and the Kindan series are pretty much my only exceptions, and that's just because I got started on them already and now I want to finish the darn things! I hate not knowing the ending to a series, hate it hate it hate it. But I guess I'll just have to learn some more Japanese so I can read them for myself.
...I can totally go a week without my Bleach. I mean, just Bleach. Using a possessive preposition in front of the title probably isn't a good way to show that I'm not addicted to it. Hehe. So yeah, it's pretty much the only currently-airing series that I'm watching. Vampire Knight's first season is finished airing, so it doesn't exactly count, but I'm being forced to watch it by some of my friends. My main project at the moment is both seasons of Honey and Clover... I adore that manga and the anime is just as good.
CLAYMORE!! I just read chapter 81... so good! Though Raki bugs me. Regardless, Claymore is made of win. And no, I don't do horror much either - not after Uzumaki. Do you know how hard it was for me to eat mushrooms after reading that? It ruined mushrooms, if only temporarily! Hence, I now generally avoid horror.
@Fye: *rubs hands* good, I've already got them listening to me. Mwahahahaha! Hola back~ is playing the piano really that cool? I guess it could be... I've played it on and off since I was four, so it's kind of not all that exciting for me. But you should learn it, it's a really good instrument to play, especially since it's so popular that it's easy to find transcriptions of all sorts of good music. My favourite songs to play at the moment are "Apologize" - the version that doesn't have Timbaland in it - and "Winter Sleep" from the NANA anime. It's soooo pretty on piano~
@Fire: Thanks for the kudos, I haven't been on staff for very long so I'm still getting used to it. But it's always nice to be congratulated, especially from fellow flying pig enthusiasts. Plus it's nice to see that people actually use the site... especially after seeing numbers go down so drastically after every mass member deletion. Hopefully you didn't get caught in that.
Anyway, thanks all for the warm welcome. I look forward to chatting with you guys... provided you'll actually read my insanely long posts... and getting to know you all better!

OMG! You play Winter Sleep?????!! That song is freakin' lovely!!!!! I adore most of the Nana's songs, so it would be really nice to hear you play it. The other song, Apologize, I don't know it, sorry
BTW, I also love Honey & Clover. It's one of the best shoujos ever! And Claymore is just as good (not a shoujo, though). I watched the anime last year, and I liked it. Now I have to start reading the manga, which everyone says that's way better. And Toriko.... I started reading it once, then left it because of what happened, and the re start ir because I didn't have anything to read... Now I'm hoping somebody finishes it, 'cause I also don't like leaving a story in the middle.
(And I also don't like horror stories.... they scare me way to much that I end without sleep...)

Arigatou, welcomes and compliments about potentially hearing me play the piano, if badly, are always welcome. Yay~
@Fye: You don't know the song "Apologize"? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE??? Go. Watch this for the better-known version, featuring Timbaland, or this for the original, far better, version. I'll try and record Winter Sleep one of these days
@kkarth: It's from Toriko ~Aigan Shoujo~. It's a loli-smut. Which may not be everyone's cup of tea. It's not mine, that much, either, but now that I've started it I just NEED to know the ending. *annoyed Lynz appears*

Well, now that I'm listening to it I can recognize it ^^. It's a really beautiful song, so I would really like to hear you play it, among with Winter Sleep, of course (and any other song that you also play ^^).

Yeah, I'm in the very same situation

Once I start something, I'm doomed to needing to know the ending. It's a sad fate indeed.
Good, good, the world hasn't turned on its head, you do know Apologize. Phew.
I really will record Winter Sleep one of these days, I will I will!
In other news, Lynz' happiness abounds and she just visited Québec and got Honey and Clover UP TO VOLUME 8! SCREECH!

Woot! It's always nice to visit some place and score a bunch of manga you were looking for.

Indeed it is. And do you know how much glorious, glorious SMUTTY GOODNESS is licenced in French? (I couldn't buy any though, I'm a month short of 18 and was with my parents)
A LOT. Boku wa Imouto no Koi Suru, lots of one-volume ones, even Ren-ai Shijou Shugi.... sigh... happy place, happy place...
If anyone ever finds any French smut online, gimme and I'll translate it for ya.

I'm actually still looking for the holy grail of French translated online Manga smut. I know from frequenting places like raw-paradise.com that the French appear to LOVE their manga and will license things that don't have a prayer of releasing in the US.
Makes me want to learn french and then take a trip. <.<
>.>
Also you guys aren't supposed to admit you're underage to me! I'm supposed to be the mighty responsible adult keeping the smutts away from the children who somehow only know how to properly comprehend it when they turn 18! Truefax! Before you're 18 you run the risk of exploding if you read anything that has the word sex in it.
*nods*
If I actually thought any of that I would list warnings as "strongly advise you be 18 years or older" instead of "for mature readers". I'm a firm believer in "maturity is a state of mind, not age" which makes me a terrible, corrupting adult.

How nice! I wish I could read Honey and Clover too...... I curse the editorial in this country! They mostly publish shounen, and a only a few shoujos (most of them smut) so.... It would be nice to see a change sometime.

I'm looking foward to it!

The place I bought my HC from has a site, found here that I plan to order from in the near-ish future. Hehehehehehe.
And I did buy one volume that I plan on scanning, translating, editing, and all that... hmm... maybe if I ever get around to doing so, we could release it here... hmm... But it'll be a while before this happens.

What manga is it?
|
lynzajw
|
I'll get the English title one of these days... but it's an ongoing series, all one-shots, and the volume I have is called something like "C'est Pour ça Que Je T'aime" I think. Dunno. And psh, I'm one month and five days short of being eighteen. Let's count it in the old-fashioned way then... I'm one month and five days short of being nineteen in that case, so no worries.
|
Fye
|
You're so young! XD
So, they really don't let you buy anything inappropiated (for 18+) there?
|
lynzajw
|
Technically, no. That's just in Québec, though. Stupid, overly-Catholic overly-French province... *grrs*
But I wouldn't have had a problem as I look a lot older than I am... I think most people go with 23 when they hazard a guess at my age... university-aged, at least. When I'm all casual and not looking prettyful. *teehees* The legal drinking age where I live is 19 but waiters always try to get me to buy alcoholic stuff or to pour wine for me~ yay~

I think they're almost killing you by saying you're 23! OMG! How can people say that??!!
|
lynzajw

...I'm fine with it. I'm still young enough that I like being told I look a bit older than I am. In ten years, though, I'll be killing people for it.
