Not usually very big on personal introductions, but here goes. My name's Nate, though my nickname is Molenir. I'm new on staff, joined as a cleaner.

I have an associates degree, and though I'm looking to get a bachelors, I'm currently taking a break from school. Currently am in the process of finding a new job, and in my spare time I enjoy reading manga, watching anime, and hanging out with friends. Like a couple other people around here too, I also play the piano.

I tend to go in cycles. Edit manga, read manga, watch anime. (Not necessarily in that order, sometimes I do them all at once.) I've worked as an editor, with a bunch of different groups on a bunch of different projects. This is the first time I've ever just cleaned a manga. Is kind of a nice change, as my biggest peeve lately as an editor is being told in QC that I need to go back and move text in order to center it. Especially because looking at it, to me its just fine as it is...

Generally prefer Shoujo and Josei. I occasionally read Shonen, and don't mind reading Yuri and Smut. I can't stand Yaoi. And no, before you ask, just cause I'm a guy and enjoy Shoujo, I'm not gay. (I get asked that a lot for some reason) Shoujo generally has better stories then Shonen, and once you've seen/read a couple shonen mangas, they tend to blur together for me.

I'm also a staff member at anime-source.com and in keeping with that, I'm currently following a quite a few animes. You're all probably not interested but... Currently following

Hi Molenir! Welcome to the staff! The more the merrier!! Plus double kudos for being a guy who likes Shoujo, I totally agree with you! There are some good Shounen, (does Yu Yu Hakuso count?), etc, and Hunter X Hunter, but there seem to be more storylines in Shoujo. Although I do like it when I find a good shounen one.

So you enjoy more shoujo? I also have a friend (a boy, too) who enjoys more this type of stories ^^ (and he isn't gay either). But I think you have a point there, most of the time the shoujo stories have a better plot.

There are a few older people on staff. I'm 28.

I'm also the exact opposite of you. I'm a woman that loves Shounen. Which makes the 98% Shoujo to Shounen ratio of the group even funnier when you stop and think about it...

I don't watch nearly as many shows as you (I don't have the time right now) but I do pick up Slayers Revolution, Soul Eater and Shugo Chara. I also watch Strike Witches and Sekirei, but I'm not caught up with them.

Pssht, I wouldn't assume you were gay just because you read shoujo. It's less boring! Don't get me wrong, I love shounen, I NEED my Bleach fix every week... I just find, as you seem to, that - while there are many similarities between many shoujo series - shounen's more repetitive.
