Licensed Wish ListRule one of the suggestion box is that we do not do licensed series. This spot if for people to put up their licensed wish lists since realistically we all have that series that's just been picked up or seems like it's going to take *forever* to publish in our country, region, century and we're dying to finish reading it.
I'll go first! What? Just because it's the rule I made up doesn't mean I don't have a wish list too...
+Anima - I know it's almost finished, but I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!
Nui - I actually got the raws of the first two volumes before I found out it was licensed. I still have them because if Broccoli Books ever drops this I'm going to be all over it like a fifteen minute used book sale. By the same mangaka of +Anima.
Aria - ADV releases three volumes and then sits on the license for years and then who gets it? TOKYOPOP AND THEY'RE RE-RELEASING!!!! Someone get past Volume 3! Please!
Rave Master - Got to keep chanting "Seven volumes left, Seven volumes left"...also one that I have the raws and when I heard Tokyopop might drop a few titles I was right there with my fingers on the keyboard waiting...waiting...
Pick of the Litter - It really is cute and I shouldn't complain as I never would have heard of it if I hadn't seen it in a bookstore.
Dazzle - Part of me actually wants to fly to Japan and sit outside the mangaka's door, waiting for chapters...
Her Majesty's Dog - I'm still waiting for Volumes 8 & 9 from the library and the idea of months before seeing 10 and 11 makes me cry a little. On the inside.
Gestalt - Just as we start advertising for a translator Viz Media snatches this one up. Oh well, at least I know it'll be finished in a couple of years...but still! *pout*
----
Please note...this doesn't mean we're going to start doing licensed series. The reason I put the rule in place and we follow it is because I'd rather have us work on unlicensed series and stay under the radar of the English language companies than go for a licensed series and potentially get smacked down for playing with their series.
That and there are still people who seem to love making random lists of the newest uploaded scanlations on Tokyopop's forums. I'm not even going to get into how very much I want to do things in vivid detail, with plenty of sailor level swearing, whenever I see the groups name pop up because someone wants to make a list and be informative on pretty much the last place on earth we would want to appear on...

Yes, sadly enough there are quite a few idiots in the manga community. Though when they behave like that, I'm hesitant to say that they're "in the community" as they're obviously just hurting it, and a true member of it wouldn't do that. But I'm being off-topic here.
Licenced series, eh? *claps hands in glee* Well, I'd have to start with Viz Media stuff, as they're what I pay far too much money for. And while I can't usually complain about the frequency of their releases, I'm still cheap.
Kaze Hikaru - it comes out every three months, which is way faster than a scanlation group could release it due to the huge amounts of text and historical detail involved, but I still get antsy about it. Soji's such an idiot! But an adorable one. But still and idiot.
Honey and Clover and Sand Chronicles - they're both published in Shojo Beat magazine, which means that they don't come out nearly as frequently as they should. Which results in an angtsy Lynz, never much fun to be around.
Wild Ones - WHYYYYYY oh why does it take to so long to release it? Arrrrg!
Whistle! - only five volumes to go, only five volumes to go... and they're all so darn adorable! Awww, look at the kiddies playing their soccer... now just release it more often so I can watch them playing more soccer, and faster...
Monster - yes, I've read all the scanlations. But still, Viz, they're only three volumes left! Just do a huge bunch of releases like you did with Naruto a while back and make us all happy, please!
I could complain about the series that are released bimonthly, but really, for a shoujo series, that's not too bad, so I won't.
I try to avoid stuff from Tokypop, but the slow BECK releases are killing me! Why is it taking so long? Why??
And the two that are driving me NUTS that aren't from those two: After School Nightmare and, even more so, 100% Perfect Girl. More, more, MORE! And faster, please! Please please please faster! I don't actually buy either of those, because I want more to come out before I start to. Especially ASN, I'm not buying it until all ten are done. And I find somewhere to put them so they don't get hurt when my friends go on borrowing sprees, they're far too precious.

Oooo! I love this topic. The two that I'm waiting and the release dates keep getting pushed back are
Chocolat (Korean version) - This latest volume was supposed to be released back in May and they pused it back until September. Darn! I really want to finished this series. I'm dying to get the raws and sneak a peek but alas I wouldn't understand them and I'd feel guilty about spoiling myself. I must be patient. I must be patient.
Penguin Revolution - I love how cute this series is. I keep running across the raws for this one and I have to grit my teeth. It was supposed to come out in June and I was ready to purchase the latest but they got me again. Aaah! It's supposed to come out on 7/30/08. I'm crossing my fingers and chanting several prayers that this release is on time. Must be patient. Must be patient.
Problem is patience is not one of my virtues...

So there's a handful of stories out there that have been slated for publishing and all you get is "coming soon". So I'll narrow it down...all the way down.
Peter Panda The manhwa by Na Yeri (Yeri Na according to western sites?). I really don't know what the status is. Some sites seem to say 2 volumes have been released, some state 1 volume has been released. However, all sites that sell books state "Temporarily Unavailable" and "Check out used and rare books". For used and rare books to be available, I always thought they had to be sold at one point in time first.
This is one of the few that:
-I've snuck a peek at the raws (although I slightly regret it, I won't be able to restrain and will do the same when I find the next volume)
-I'm willing to pay for the licensed, often botched, westernized version.
-I'm thinking of taking up Korean for
I wonder if it's just me that's dying to read this? The plot summary seems a bit strange, but after reading the scanlated first version, it really peaked my interest.

My licenced wishlist is loooong, but I'm just picking out my favourites eheh.
Bokura ga Ita- One group scanlated this series up to volume 3 chapter 9, then JShojo decided to pick up from volume 9. I reallly wanna know what happens after the anime ended. I've been reading the translated chapters and the raws (I'm only a beginner at Japanese) but I really wanted them to license this manga a while ago, because volume 1 is yet to come out >.< 4th November 2008. Guess I'll be buying it because this is my favourite manga everr.
Nosatsu Junkie- The ends of the volumes always leave a cliffhanger making you want to find out what happens after, Tokyopop has released 6 volumes so far, I want them to hurry up dammit =(
My Heavenly Hocky Club- Again, because it's full of randomness (sorta like Ouran) it's really funny and I can't find the raws. So I'm being patient and waiting till the volumes come out in English...it's a MUST READ o_o
Kedamono Damono- This manga is LOVE ^-^ However, there is only..what? 4 volumes, and the 4th hasn't come out yet. I wish this series was longer..hmm, I hope they haven't put this manga on hold or anything because I don't know when it will come out either as they haven't given a date, but Tokyopop better announce the date or else I won't be buying their manga books anymore..haha. I'm dying to find out what happens in the end!
Mamotte! Lollipop- Yeah, I know this is sorta a kiddy book (: But I got hooked on it when buying the first volume! The 6/7th volumes haven't come out yet but I've been patient and read a summary about the ending, and I'm not reading Modotte! Mamotte! Lollipop before I finish the prequel =]

In my country, I'll have to ask for:
Goong
100% Perfect Girl
Man! They're always on a cliffhanger! But well, I might as well ask for Skip Beat!, Kaichou wa Maid-sama and Shugo Chara!

The only series I have on my wishlist is Gakuen Sousei Nekoten!, which was recently (i suppose) licensed by Yen Press. I haven't seen any volume releases though. T__T

Nosatsu Junkies, although technically its no longer licensed, since Tokyo Pop announced they're dropping the series. So if we wanted, we could pick it up from there... <nudge>
