I've never actually seen a Dorama.
So I like action, comedy, and sci-fi/fantasy though I'm also willing to take a pure comedy. Anyone have recommendations for a good show to try out?

| What do you mean by Dorama? Do you mean Live-Action type stuff? If so, theres a lot of great stuff out there, though of course its mostly a matter of taste. For straight humor, with a dash of seriousness, you could try K-Dramas like Bad Family, or 3 Dads, 1 Mom. Or if you'd rather watch a Japanese Drama, try Seigi no Mikata or Zettai Kareshi, both based off mangas. If you're looking for more drama, you could try Sister in law is 17, or Princess Hours. Nodame the drama is particularly good as well. I have lots of others I could recommend as well, but this is probably enough for now. |

Yasuko to Kenji is pretty funny, ex-bike gang leader becomes a mangaka to take care of his baby sister after their parents died in an accident.

I haven't watched a lot of doramas, just the ones shown here in my country. I've always wanted to watch Taiyou no Uta dorama, but I think I like the movie version better (coz it has Yui )
BTW, does anyone know where is the best place if I want to download subbed dorama? |

| If you want to download dramas, go through D-Addicts. If you just want to watch online, can usually find them on places like Crunchyroll etc. There are some sites that allow you to watch streaming subbed dramas. Though off the top of my head, I can't remember which ones they are. Is rather helpful if you want to watch a show that you otherwise couldn't find. |

Oh hey! Didn't notice this thread before...
For a comedy, I recommend Hana Kimi - the Japanese one with Oguri Shun as Sano Izumi. It's hilarious. Ridiculous in a japanese game show sort of way, but absolutely hilarious.
d-addicts also have this wiki where you can look at all the shows that area translated by rating, so you can start with the more popular ones.
Generally I find the Japanese adaptations to be more entertaining, the HK ones are high budget especially the historical dramas, and the Taiwan ones are not as good. The acting is usually on the bad side for the TW dramas. |

| I'm in love with Nodame Cantabile!!! Go watch. It's hilarious.m I also prefer the Japanese version of Hana Kimi. Way better than the Taiwan one. Both of these are funny. |

My friend loves the Japanese Hana Kimi Dorama. She thinks it's so funny and amazing. She says the Taiwanese one is kind of bad, especially the main girl character.
The only one I've watched is the Kimi wa Petto dorama. It was so funny and sweet! I really loved it! My brother, sister, and I crowded around the computer screen and watched episode after episode. |

Hey Rikkastar7, I love the japanese version of Hana Kimi too. It's SOOO FUNNY!! I actually watched the taiwanese version first and IMO, the japanese one is WAAYYY better. Can't compare.
Oh, Kimi wa Petto, that's such a cute dorama. XD
