So Mr. Perch and I are big MMORPG fans. He's already got his collector's edition of WoW Wrath of the Lich King on pre-order and we're doing a head start on Warhammer. I will not be returning to WoW...
If I returned to WoW I'd have to quit the group because it seriously consumed my life for about a year-and-a-half where I did nothing but play it, sleep and go to work. It's too addicting for me.
So we're doing the "sharing an account" thing and re-activating his WoW account in prep for the new expansion release and sharing a Warhammer account which I'll probably take over completely when WoW hits the stands.
Anyone else actively playing either WoW or Warhammer?
I like warhammer because it feels like a combination of WoW, Everquest 2 and X-box Live while still retaining a unique and interesting game world of its own.
I like wow, because it's ridiculously addicting and I enjoy the game play and world, but it's too addictive for me to go back to. I had to cold turkey the wow-candy two years ago and never look back. *sniff* I love you Level 70 Troll Warrior and Level 70 Gnome Warlock! And numerous sixties... and little bag alts. And flavor characters...and naked dancing in Org. And...and..
*gets shakes*
Will not succumb! *clutches photoshop*
Oh look! I have typesetting to do! *runs off with smut* |

| Lol, you are a hard type to find perch. A woman that loves games like WoW and Warhammer, if I was in your age group and new who you really were I'd honestly try and steal you away. Any way back on topic I currently play WoW and I play both version of Warhammer, the models version and the PC game. I've been thinking about getting the new one but I don't think I'd be able to fit it into my life with school, WoW and cleaning not much room for Warhammer. Yes I agree with you very much WoW is the crack of online games, you tell your self your only going to just "try" the trial version then you end up six months later with four 70's refusing to sleep until you power level your fifth one to 70 too. I quit for a while too but the icon on my desktop eventuly sucked me back in, Damn you blizzard and your addicting games! Well any way I'm back to starting a naked party around Und's bank! |

Noooo..... I won't be returning to WoW, no matter how many times my friends try to resurrect me.
I was too addicted and obsessed with WoW. The only time I had a social life was on Tuesday maintenance. I kinda left my guild due to the nasty power struggle which forced me to pick sides. Instead I venture out as a dark priest. I was busy going for raids etc and frequently helping out those LFG/LFM.
However my hubby pulled the plug!! Not literally but he was unhappy that I was spending too much time gaming. Funny though that he is playing WoW too but not as addicted like me. So he weaned me off by playing WII and PS3 instead. Then I was addicted to anime and started reading manga obsessively.
I'm just waiting for Starcraft 3 which supposed to come this year, but is delayed to Feb-2009. Most probably it'll be delayed again.... Till then, I'm looking forward to play Rockband 2 on PS3. |

Yeah, I went through the addicted to online gaming phase also. Though for me, I was involved in a game called Dragonrealms. For years and years. Seemed like my life revolved around playing, getting my character more experience etc. I remember being at work, in meetings etc, and instead of focusing on what I needed to do, I was thinking what I would spend my time on when I got home.
Not a good thing for the social life. Though I agree with Dark, girls that like games like this are a bit hard to find. |

Bah, they cut off my Warhammer pre-order free ride today so I'm not playing that at the moment. We'll eventually get that box. I'll probably turn on WoW in the meantime. Too many pretty, pretty things are calling my name.
For instance I made my way all the way over to PAX ("Penny Arcade eXpo" if you don't know), and whilst playing with the Wrath Beta at the Blizzard booth managed to win a trivia contest. Got myself a new Mini-Tyrael pet for WoW! (http://www.warcraftpets.com/wow.p.../mythical.figures/mini_tyrael.asp) Of course I'ma re-up after that.
And Darkend:
A) You think this escaped my notice when I married her?
B) I'd just like you to know I *MESSAGE REDACTED DUE TO THE "NO THREATENING PEOPLE" RULE FROM PERCH*
I used to raid in WoW and it was exceptionally time-consuming. When my guild broke up due to ass-hattery, I took the excuse and got out of the raid game. |

That made me lol's. Raids do take time but naked raids are fast and are amusing. Also do you know who pappertank is? Hes one of those ass-hattery people that ruin WoW, thankfully most of those people are on the Alliance side. Horde FTW! I do kind of want to know what was censored, I guess I'll just have to fill in the blanks with some large speech involving a large amounts of of curse words and a shot at my masculinity thrown in here and there, a sprinkle or two of what my degree is Ahhh, any way yeah. Just so I cant get yelled at for getting off topic, Warhammer should be really good but a game I'm really waiting for is StarCraft 3 if you have seen the trailers for it it looks so freak'in awesome. Well back to cleaning before perch starts beating me with her mace...

I was buying just the guitar for PS3 Guitar Hero. Yeah, now you can use it to play Rock Band after downloading the patch.
The shop owner told me that Warhammer online was launched today but I heard it was a disaster as the accounts were de-activated. Those who have pre-ordered have to go down in person to activate the accounts again. I hate EA!
I've personally experienced a disaster launch when I went with my hubby to buy Spore before the launch. There was a long queue which end up not moving because there was no more stock. Come on, they could have planned it better knowing how many stock they have before selling them. I pity the kids who were so sad that they did not manage to get the game. It was a Sunday, this means they were hoping to play before school starts the next day. |

Hmm....I'm getting a little interested in Warhammer online. I read the review there's lotsa PvP. Pretty interesting. So anyone has hooked on it? Is there any lag? Is there a queue to get into the realm? I'm tempted to play it.
I'm sorry Perch but if I do~ I'm not sure how I'm gonna juggle translation LOL
Edit: ARGHHHHH! My configurations are too low... I need a new laptop! |

Hmmm... Should we be grateful you need a new laptop?
Perch's computer can't run it either, just below the system req's. Though I do know she was up half the night playing it on mine.
The lag isn't too bad, populated areas don't slow down too much. There are queues if you choose an overpopulated side/server. (I.E.- If you want to play destruction and there are tons of destruction on you'll have to wait your turn [PS->Everyone plays destruction]), but there are plenty of servers where you can avoid the queues right now.
It's pretty fun overall. |

I was planning to buy a new laptop when Starcraft 3 launch date is confirmed. So I'm quite hesitant to buy one right now just for Warhammer... afterall the end game is the laptop is meant to play Starcraft 3. I need two in fact, one for my hubby and another for me.
Perhaps I'll wait a few more months such that all the bugs can be ironed out. My hubby says he'll join me if I start playing *So Yeah!* It looks really good - I like the Tome. Hope the quests are interesting. |

Hey Nanachan,
Since I've got the game, I thought I'd show you some screenshots of the action so you could make a more informed decision.
Anyway, the game starts you right in front of your very first quest giver. I think this game is really pretty hard. I mean, this first quest didn't even make sense:
[/img]
Oh, I'm playing a White Lion, btw. They're like hunters (from WoW) except they melee (so like every noob hunter you've ever met ).
Anyway, the challenge works out, but I think the loot is gonna be pretty disappointing. It seems to be very specifically tailored:
The PVP is pretty solid though. Every racial pairing has its own specific scenarios to play in and you can start playing in them from level 1 (although you don't have enough abilities to actually do anything until about level 4 or so). It's a little demoralizing though, as a high elf, the character here is a member of the Order faction. Your opponents seem really powerful:
One of the big things for this game though is the "Public Quest". Basically it's a PVE mechanic where everyone in the area participates in a shared goal. Working through the goals builds up your progress towards completing the shared quest:
Overall, I think it's a pretty interesting game, but probably not worth your attentions... *nodnod*
I think that concludes this completely factual and in no way doctored presentation, so any Perches that might be standing around with a gun to my head can just step awaj7yuhc54rt
...
THIS MESSAGE IS OVER! |

I'm playing WOW right now, and we;re waiting for the new patch by next year or so - Cataclysm.
My friends are also waiting for Warhammer to patch up and expand to Warhammer40k. |
